The literary event reconfigures a complex space that blends institutional spaces\u00a0(municipalities, libraries, schools), media (press), shopkeepers (librarians, editors), domestic or private (places dedicated to practice for visitors) and through which decisions are taken regarding the values related to reading and books. It is named La f\u00eate des Bulles (Bubbles Celebration) and was founded by Jean Pauline in 1991 and welcomes artists from all over Europe. Every year about thirty comic strip writers go to this city situated in the agglomeration of Metz. Each year a theme is proposed (ex: youth, women, wine, or cinema).<br \/>\nThere are also book signings, conferences and many animations (such as exhibitions, workshops, cosplays, treasure hunts, etc.) which are proposed to a large public from Tuesday to Sunday. Women authors are honored during this event. The 11th edition focused on health, nature and well-being. Around 50 women authors were present to sign their books. It fits perfectly into the city and the dynamic of the region. For 4 days, the festival welcomes more than 200 regional, national and also international authors. As well, more than 70 theme-based events take place before and during the festival: public reading sessions, literary concerts, performances, meetings, debates, philosophy aperitifs, exhibitions, etc.<\/p>\n<p>The event seeks to mix different genres by working in partnership with local cultural institutions (museums, art galleries, concert halls, etc.). Beforehand, the festival also organizes a series of writing workshops throughout the Moselle department. It\u00a0means to raise awareness concerning books and writing as well as helping to develop critical faculties among pupils. These workshops will end when the festival kicks off, during the special day reserved for pupils.<\/p>\n<p>Two literary awards are officially given during the festival: &#8211; The literary award Marguerite Puhl-Demange which rewards a work written in French and which was published between the 1st of July and the 31st of January of the year it is given. This prize is awarded by a jury of readers recruited from the whole region of Moselle.<br \/>\n-The award Graoully created in 2009 &#8211; which is the outcome of a recent collaboration between the bookshop for children&#8217;s literature \u201cLe Pr\u00e9au\u201d, the \u201cLe livre \u00e0 Metz\u201d Festival and the libraries and Media centres based in Metz. This award is an occasion to put children forward because they are the ones who made up the whole jury. In 2017 the festival will celebrate its 30th anniversary. For one month, you can listen to the fairy tales on several occasions in the Pays de Nied. For adults as well as for a young audience, shows, readings\u00a0storytelling evenings are organized. Il est remis au mois de novembre \u00e0 Toul (Meurthe-et-Moselle). La r\u00e9compense, remise pas la mairie de Toul, s\u2019\u00e9l\u00e8ve \u00e0 500 euros. Il a pour objectif de r\u00e9compenser tant la qualit\u00e9 de l\u2019\u00e9criture, la recherche de style que la musicalit\u00e9 ou l\u2019appel \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9vasion et concerne \u00e0 la fois les romans, essais et biographies. Il s\u2019agit d\u2019un prix tr\u00e8s dynamique avec une participation en hausse constante.<\/p>\n<p>Le Prix de la Nouvelle des lyc\u00e9ens est ouvert \u00e0 tous les \u00e9l\u00e8ves des lyc\u00e9es lorrains (classes post-bac comprises). En 2016, 164 \u00e9crivains en herbe issus de 38 lyc\u00e9es y participent. L\u2019objectif, pour d\u00e9crocher le premier prix, est une cr\u00e9ation litt\u00e9raire originale de 3 \u00e0 12 pages. \u00c0 la cl\u00e9 : la publication de leur nouvelle dans une revue lorraine et bon d\u2019achat de livres d\u2019une valeur de 1 000 \u20ac (les 2\u00e8me et 3\u00e8me prix recevant respectivement des prix de 600 \u20ac et 300 \u20ac).<br \/>\nLe jury se compose d\u2019une dizaine de membres, dont 8 personnalit\u00e9s du monde litt\u00e9raire. Bien s\u00fbr, il y a quand m\u00eame des \u00e9chos dans la presse locale mais pas au-del\u00e0. En plus, il y en a pl\u00e9thore. Alors qu&#8217;il y a un \u00e9clairage beaucoup plus important sur les prix nationaux.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Les prix litt\u00e9raires mettent le projecteur sur des livres qui ont \u00e9t\u00e9 a priori d\u00e9sign\u00e9s comme meilleurs que les autres. Pour nous, c&#8217;est un plus financier. On peut en vendre plus. Mais ce n&#8217;est pas toujours le cas. Les gens se m\u00e9fient parfois presque des prix. Pour eux, ce n&#8217;est pas toujours un label de qualit\u00e9. Parfois \u00e7a freine m\u00eame. Il y a des gens qui ach\u00e8tent le Goncourt tous les ans car c&#8217;est le Goncourt et ils ach\u00e8tent peut-\u00eatre peu de livres dans l&#8217;ann\u00e9e mais il y a celui-ci qui est obligatoire, qu&#8217;il soit bien ou non. Les autres prix &#8211; le Renaudot, le Femina &#8211; ont un impact mais nous, petite librairie de province, on n\u2019en vend pas \u00e9norm\u00e9ment. A part quelques livres qu\u2019on n\u2019aurait pas vu que l&#8217;on aurait laiss\u00e9 passer et une fois qu&#8217;il re\u00e7oit le prix, on peut le regarder \u00e0 nouveau \u00e0 ce moment-l\u00e0, le remettre en avant. Je pense notamment au prix Renaudot des lyc\u00e9ens qui \u00e9tait pass\u00e9 un petit peu inaper\u00e7u, m\u00eame compl\u00e8tement inaper\u00e7u quand il est sorti au mois de f\u00e9vrier. Mais comme il a obtenu le prix Renaudot des lyc\u00e9ens, on le remet en avant et \u00e7a nous incite \u00e0 le regarder, \u00e0 le lire. Moi je n&#8217;ai pas attendu que le Goncourt soit d\u00e9cern\u00e9 cette ann\u00e9e pour le lire\u2026\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Je connais le prix Imaginales des lyc\u00e9ens parce qu&#8217;on fait partie des Imaginales, mais c&#8217;est vrai qu&#8217;il a un impact seulement au moment des Imaginales. Peut-\u00eatre que l&#8217;\u00e9diteur s&#8217;en sert comme plus quand il vend \u00e0 d&#8217;autres libraires en France. Moi, personnellement, dans cette librairie, \u00e7a n&#8217;a pas un gros impact. La Feuille d&#8217;or, un petit peu&#8230; Je serais incapable de vous dire qui a eu le prix de la Feuille d&#8217;Or cette ann\u00e9e. Les Prix Imaginales, oui. Les autres n&#8217;ont aucun impact ici. Un petit peu le prix \u00c9mile Moselly, c&#8217;est arriv\u00e9 peut-\u00eatre une fois ou deux&#8230; Mais tr\u00e8s peu&#8230; Le prix Erckmann-Chatrian, oui, car c&#8217;est celui qui est vraiment mis en avant au moment du salon du livre de Nancy. Cela a peut-\u00eatre plus d&#8217;impact dans les grandes villes comme Nancy ou Metz, je ne sais pas trop.
