THE WRITERS OF THE LORRAINE
A GEOLOCALISATION OF LITERATURE
THE MAIN OBJECTIVE HERE IS A GEOLOCALIZATION OF LITERATURE IN A SPECIFIC TERRITORY, TO ENSURE A NATIONAL AND CROSS-BORDER VISIBILITY OF LORRAINE REGARDING THE BOOK AND ITS ISSUES. THE MAIN PURPOSE HERE IS TO EXPLORE THE LITERARY TERRITORY OF LORRAINE BY LOOKING AT DIFFERENT LOCAL WRITERS SUCH AS EMILIE DU CHÂTELET, PAUL VERLAINE, BERNARD MARIE KOLTÈS, PAUL CLAUDEL, VIRGINIE DESPENTES…
Starting from mapping and the implementation of a database, the website “La Lorraine des écrivains” offers a panorama of literature of the Lorraine region including a geolocalized inventory of writers, literary works, events, creation systems and heritage sites.
CULTURE AND TOURISM
In passing through the Lorraine region, and mixing culture and tourism, the digital tour won’t be limited to a presentation of literary extracts, but would rather offer to the public an approach of the mediation activities about literature and the writers of the Lorraine region, in many forms (database, filmed interviews, scientific articles…) and based on four maps still in development:
• Map of writers (XVI to XX century)
• Map of literary life
• Map of literary creation (territory and cultural mediation)
• Map of literary heritage
The literary places and paths of Lorraine will encourage the visitor to choose alternative routes, to go through places around the border or maybe even further.
LITERATURE AND TECHNOLOGY, RESEARCH AND COOPERATION
Initiated by the Center of research on mediations (CREM) of the University of Lorraine in partnership with the Democratization and cultural industries pole of the DRAC Alsace – Champagne-Ardenne – Lorraine and the Regional Book Center of Lorraine, “La Lorraine des écrivains” aims to link literature and technology, to create both nationally and internationally in an innovative way, a database open to the public as well as a network for researchers interested in this problem (creation and territory, literature and digital) with the aim of constituting a displayable database.
